What is SSB Interview in NDA?
The SSB (Services Selection Board) Interview is a crucial part of the selection process for candidates aspiring to join the National Defence Academy (NDA). After clearing the written exam, candidates are called for the SSB Interview, which is a comprehensive evaluation that lasts for about 5 days.
The SSB Interview assesses candidates on various parameters like their personality, leadership skills, mental and physical fitness, and potential to become an officer in the Indian Armed Forces. The interview process includes different stages such as:
Screening Test: This is the first stage and includes the Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) Test and Picture Perception and Description Test (PPDT). Only those who pass this stage proceed to the next levels.
Psychological Tests: These tests are designed to assess the candidate's mental abilities and psychological profile. It includes tests like the Thematic Apperception Test (TAT), Word Association Test (WAT), Situation Reaction Test (SRT), and Self-Description Test (SD).
Group Testing Officer (GTO) Tasks: This stage involves various group activities and tasks such as Group Discussions, Group Planning Exercise, Progressive Group Tasks, Half Group Tasks, Individual Obstacles, Command Task, and more. These tasks are designed to evaluate a candidate’s teamwork, leadership qualities, and physical endurance.
